Erskine Morris (1913-1997) was a fiddler from Douglastown in Quebec's Gaspé region. At 10, he began playing fiddle, learning from his mother's (Beatrice Fortin) lilting. He learned an extensive local repertoire from two brothers and elderly neighbours, Joe and Charlie Drody. Following the Second World War, he relocated to the Montreal area. Genticorum nous présentent un album 2023 décoré de turlutes, de podorythmies, de chants en coeur et d'harmonies acoustiques. Et comme toujours il est d'une écoute entraînante désarmante de ravissements, de bonheurs et de trouvailles agréables.
